Cellphone-Mate has just released a new version of their 40dB Wireless dual-band cellular amplifier for vehicles.  Changes have been made in the receiver sensitivity and also in the temperature that the amp runs.  We took the new Cellphone-Mate 40dB amplifier out and tested it against another 3 watt cellular amplifier, the Wilson 40dB 801201 dual band amplifier.  We were quite pleased with the performance.  It performed similar to the Wilson 801201 which is the top selling mobile cellular amplifier.  We went into some very remote areas and both the Cellphone-Mate 40dB and the Wilson 801201 held calls in the same locations and both lost calls in the same locations.  We could not see any major differences in performance in our back road testing.  The new receiver sensitivity was great and the amp ran a lot cooler that the previous version.
