- Wilson 801201 40dB Cell Signal Booster
Here at Powerful Signal we get the opportunity to test many different amplifiers from various manufacturers. We get a lot of phone calls from all over the world. People don’t ask us which is the cheapest amplifier, they ask “Which is the best amplifier?”. There are several good vehicle amplifiers that are on the market, but the best that we have ever tested is the Wilson 801201 dual band 40 dB cellular amplifier.
If the Wilson 801201 can not get a signal for you, then nothing will get you a signal. This is a 3 watt amplifier and the watts are used to communicate with the cell towers. There are several other amplifiers that are 3 watts including the Wilson 811210 SIGNALBOOST, but there are many others that are not 3 watts. Some are 1/2 or 1 watt units. We have tested some of these lower watt units, but they have never performed up to our expectations. 3 watt systems always outperform lower watt systems in remote, bad signal areas.
Another important, very imortant feature the Wilson 801201 has is low receiver sensitivity. This means the Wilson amplifier has the ability to use a very weak signal. Most mobile amplifiers can not see a cell signal below about -104dB. The Wilson 801201 can see weak cell signals down to about -107dB. Excellent receiver sensitivity and 3 watts is a winning combination.
