Wilson Sleek (815226) Cell Phone Booster

Wilson Sleek (815226) is an excellent low cost cell phone booster for your car or desktop.  The Wilson Sleek 815226 kit comes with an adjustable cradle with built in cell phone booster, wilson 301113 4″ mini-mag antenna, vehicle power supply and mount.  When your cell phone is in the cradle, it is up against the cell phone booster antenna/amplifier receiving a stronger signal.  The cell phone only benefits from the cell phone booster when it is in the cradle.  The Wilson Sleek is not wireless and does not broadcast like the Wilson 801201/801212 cell phone booster.

What I like about the Wilson Sleek other than price, is that I can put my Droidx in the cradle and have a real strong cell signal for my Droid navigation application.  Even while driving around town there are weak spots and the Wilson Sleek helps to eliminate dropped communication areas.

There is an optional accessory kit (Wilson 859970) that is available with accessories for desktop use.  The accessory kit includes a nice stand for the Wilson Sleek along with wall plug power supply and a suction cup bracket to put the antenna on a window, and a carry case.

Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75 and Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 Confusion

Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75

Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75

Wilson Electronics has come out with the AG Pro line of amplifiers.  The “AG” stands for adjustable gain.  In the past Wilson’s amplifiers have tried to do all the adjusting automatically.  Most the time it is much easier to manually adjust the gain.

The confusion between the Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75 (released Jan 2011) and the Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 (released May 2011) is the part number.  Initially while going through FCC approval the 801280 was using the 801265 part number.  Just before the amplifier was released, the part number was changed to 801280, but blogs and websites were still using the 801265 part number.

Wilson then decided to release a smaller version of the 801280 with the 801265 part number.  So no the part number is back.  Sorry for all the confusion.  The bottom line is that the Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75 is a dual-band 70/75 (800/1900MHz) amplifier.  The Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 is a dual-band 65/70 (800/1900MHz) amplifier.  Both amplifiers are in the same type of metal case and have manual gain control.  Naturally the Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 is less expensive than the Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75.  The difference of 5dB in the amplifier world is significant.

When you are looking at Wilson AG Pro systems or putting one together, make sure that you are looking at the proper cell signal booster specifications and parts.  A lot of companies are getting these part number mixed up.

Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 – New Cell Phone Booster from Wilson Electronics

Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70

Wilson Electronics is slowing moving their new Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 dual band (800/1900MHz) cell signal booster out the door.  Several dealers now have these new 70dB gain units.

Last February, Wilson released the Wilson 801280 AG Pro 75.  This new Wilson 801265 is the baby brother to the 75 dB system.  I know all the numbers can be confusing, but now there is a AG Pro 75 (75dB gain) and an AG Pro 70 (70dB gain).

Naturally the small Wilson 801265 AG Pro 70 is less expensive than its big brother.  This is good for those that have a hard time spending $900-$1,000 for a home or small building cell signal booster system.  The new AG 70 Pro systems are in the area of $700-$800.

The following locations are now offering this new system in a complete with amplifier, coax and antennas:

Cellphone-Mate 62dB home/office system

Cellphone-Mate 62dB home/office system

Powerful Signal tries to configure cell phone booster systems with the highest quality components available, yet maintain an affordable price.  The Cellphone-Mate CM2000-WL-62 kit from Powerful Signal is just that, a good solid cell signal booster system.

Low loss LMR400 equivilant coax is used in this system to help reduce signal loss and to also provide a more commercial grade product for your home and office.  400 coax is used in many commercial buidings and the coax of choice for long coax runs.

Powerful Signal also provides the buyer with a choice of interior and exterior cellular antennas.  This allows the cell phone booster system to be better configured for the environment where it is being used.  These antenna choices include both directional and omni-directional antennas.

The Cellphone-Mate CM2000-WL-62 dual-band (800/1900MHz) amplifier is housed in a strong metal case to isolate it from exterior RF signals.  The metal case uses industry standard N-Female connectors so it will easily connect to 400 coax and other cellular building components available on the market.  The amplifier also carries a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

In summary, the Cellphone-Mate CM2000-wl-62 from PowerfulSignal is one of the most robust 62dB cellular amplifier systems available.  Taking everything into consideration, the cellular amplifier, the coax, the antennas and the two year manufacturer warrant, it is hard to beat this system for the price.

4G LTE – 750MHz Antennas for Verizon LTE

4G Verizon LTE Antennas

4G Verizon LTE Antennas

Verizon has started the rollout of their 4G LTE network.  There has been a great deal of advertising about its release.  LTE uses a different frequency than the regular 800/1900Mhz frequencies we have been using.  Verizon LTE uses the upper band of the 700MHz frequency referenced as 750MHz.

New 4G LTE antennas will be needed for these frequencies.  Some exising wall mount panels or ceiling mount domes may already handle the frequency.  There are some high gain directional 4G LTE Yagi Antennas specifically tuned for these frequencies.  Powerful Signal has put together a section on their website www.PowerfulSignal.com specific to 4G LTE antennas.
4G LTE is here.
